Dental Veneers: Composite or porcelain laminates that are  bonded with adhesive to the surface of a tooth to correct and repair chips and cracks will improve a worn appearance or severe tooth discoloration. Veneers may also be recommended if you have gaps in your teeth or if you have not had success with teeth whitening. Procedure involves diagnostic mock-up of the teeth to show you how corrected teeth would look on you. Once you have approved your new teeth, dentist will do mild shaping of teeth then replica of prepared teeth will be sent to the lab to make veneers and in the next appointment veneers will be cemented. Regular follow ups and flossing will be necessary to maintain your newly made smile.

Composite Bonding: Slightly discolored, mildly chipped, broken or decayed teeth may be repaired or have their appearance corrected using a procedure called composite bonding. A dental composite material with the look of enamel and dentin is applied into the cavity or onto the surface of a tooth, where it is then sculpted into shape, contoured and hardened with a high-intensity blue visible light. The result is a restoration that blends invisibly with the remainder of the surrounding tooth structure and the rest of your natural teeth to create a healthy, bright smile. Dental fillings today may also be considered cosmetic to a certain extent because you can select fillings made of porcelain or composite materials that closely match the color of your teeth, thus enhancing the natural appearance of your teeth and smile.

Teeth Whitening: Teeth whitening is perhaps the most commonly recommended cosmetic dentistry procedure. Teeth are often stained from external stains smoking, food, drink (coffee, tea or red wine) or poor oral hygiene. Bleaching the teeth involves placement of a bleaching agent over the teeth for 30 minutes approx. in 2-3 sittings depending upon the degree of stains can enhance the appearance of your smile. You may feel a little bit of sensitivity in the bleached area for few days. You are advised to avoid extreme hot or cold food for few days.

Smile Makeovers: Smile makeovers involve a comprehensive diagnostic, digital assessment of your smile in order to improve its overall appearance. Your cosmetologist will use study models, imaging technology and/or bonding previews to demonstrate the procedure  and prediction of your treatment. Systematically one or more cosmetic procedures, such as dental veneers, dental implants, gingival sculpting and teeth whitening, will be required for several teeth in both the upper and lower arches in order to achieve the overall younger look you want.

Inlays/Onlays: Dental fillings are molded into place within the mouth during a dental visit, whereas ceramic or composite inlays/onlays are long-lasting yet aesthetically pleasing restorations created in a dental laboratory before being fitted and bonded with an adhesive in place by the dentist. They are done when the damage is more than what can be managed with a small filling or less than what can be managed with a crown. Or when the teeth are worn out mildly and you need conservative option than a crown. What is involved in Cosmetic Dental Procedure?

Steps of Cosmetic Dental Procedure

Your initial consultation will be an opportunity for you to learn about the cosmetic procedure that you want as well as discuss what you like and don't like about your smile. It's also an opportunity to know and establish realistic expectations for your treatment. Cosmetic consultations typically include detailed records gathering which are important for developing a unique and precise treatment plan that will satisfy your needs, a significant amount of time may be spent for this purpose. Records gathering may include these and many more…

  1. A thorough intraoral checkup of any existing dental work.
  2. Intraoral and extra oral photographs from multiple angles and poses.
  3. Radiographs (X-rays)
  4. Impressions of your upper and lower teeth to make study models and record of your bite.
  5. Looking through smile design books that show an assortment of before and after photographs of different procedures.
  6. Reviewing different tooth shapes and sizes to see what appeals to you.
  7. Discussing tooth color, shape, size, position etc.
  8. Using a computer monitor, reviewing your smile tooth by tooth so you can thoroughly understand what can be changed and how.

The cosmetologist will then provide you a diagnosis and tailor-made treatment plan in detail and any other treatment alternatives. You can choose the treatment once you are completely comfortable with the level of detail and thoroughness of the explanations given by the dentist. Your dentist will also be telling you about the type, properties and longevity of materials that will be used in the fabrication of your restorations. You should ask about how long the results are expected to last and the type of maintenance required in order to sustain the benefit of the procedures. For example, teeth whitening must be repeated every three to six months – depending upon the procedure you choose – in order to maintain the benefits. Similarly, you may be required to wear a protective mouth guard at night to help maintain your veneers.

The cosmetologist will help you change your appearance by changing the look of your teeth and your smile. It is a very personal and important choice. Most procedures are not reversible, so you should take your own time to ensure that you feel comfortable with the dentist, and that you feel confident with his/her skills and capabilities. When you do this, you will likely be happy and completely satisfied with the results that are achieved with the treatment you receive. Meet the best cosmetic dentist in Gurgaon, today.
